The Dangerous Divorce Between “Studying” and “Devotion”

I have the distinct privilege of teaching college students the Bible. Bible Interpretation (Hermeneutics), Greek, and Theology are the subjects that I am charged with teaching, and it is daily my joy to serve the Lord and his people in this manner. However, I have noticed a dangerous problem that arises in Bible college and seminary classes: a divorce between Bible study for the purpose of academics, and Bible study as an act of one’s devotion.
